Project Status Report

Pool:

Mr. Stuber informed the Commission that he has met with three swim teams that use the pool and after talking with them realized scheduling will be an issue that will need to be addressed.

Mr. Stuber has proposed that the fee for a pool membership be $50 per person from May to October.  The Commission had some concerns about charging per person or per group or team.  They also had some concerns about resident and nonresident fees for the pool membership.  Mr. Stuber said he will continue to look into the fees to see what will be best for all concerned.

Mr. Stuber expressed his concerns about two leaks and a broken skimmer to the Commission.  Mr. Stuber stated that Mr. Fesler is working on cleaning the area out and painting.  The pumps have been inspected and seem to be working fine.

Tennis Courts:

Mr. Stuber informed the Commission that he met with the tennis league that plays at the City of Goose Creek tennis courts next to the Golf course.  He found out that they pay $175 to the Golf Course to play on the courts.

Mr. Stuber said he would meet with the Tennis League again after the fee structure has been approved.  Mr. Glass asked how the Recreation Department will advertise to the public that they have access to the pool and tennis courts.  Mr. Stuber stated that the quarterly newsletter will be a good source for advertisement.

New Business

Parks Report:

Mr. Stuber informed the Commission that the circle parking area at the Casey Center has some pot holes in it that have gotten quite big.  He has Mr. Fesler working on patching these areas.

Mr. Fesler is also working on a PARD grant for Dogwood Park.  Mr. Glass asked about the trailer at Dogwood Park.  Mr. Stuber said he has offered to have someone else live there but has had no takers.  He will have to speak with the owner to remove it if no one wants to live there.

Recreation Report:

Mr. Stuber told the Commission about working with the Goose Creek Police Department and having a safe Halloween Festival.  It will be on October 30th.   There will be no haunted house this year.

Mr. Glass asked that grants be put on the agenda for every meeting.

Adjournment

Mr. Lindsay made a motion to close the meeting at 7:15pm; the motion was seconded by Mrs. Trevino, all in favor.
